That Mitchell Chepokas lost his life is, unfortunately, all too common of an ending to the story of a child diagnosed with cancer.  What makes Mitch’s story so extraordinary is that while his own days and strength were fading, his awareness and compassion for how other cancer kids and their families were suffering continued to grow. 

Observing that not all families were blessed with the same love and support that he felt, Mitch was compelled to give away monies earmarked for him to his friends on the cancer ward.   To him, it was a simple and inadequate gesture.  But what a 9-year old boy hadn’t considered was how miraculous his gift would be for those families during their personal crisis. 

From that gesture Mitch’s legacy became an inspiration, especially to other kids, and led his parents to form The Miracles of Mitch Foundation to carry out the final promise and request of their son, a boy named Mitch.
