New Year's Eve Celebration Boasts Sell-Out Crowd
A sell-out crowd of 550 people ushered in 2010 at the fifth annual Minnesota Miracle New Year's Eve Celebration, held at the Hilton MSP Airport Hotel in Bloomington, Minn.
KARE 11's Eric Perkins emceed the event, which offered a fabulous dinner and an inspirational program that included testimonials about how The Miracles of Mitch Foundation is helping the families of pediatric cancer patients in Minnesota, a touching Fund a Need segment that raised $16,200 for MOMF's Minnesota Miracle weekend getaways, and an exciting kids' heads or tails game as well as a live auction. The top two heads or tails placers each took a turn grabbing cash in the M&I Bank money booth, and the top finisher won a three-foot-tall M&M character filled with Mars candies.
After the program ended, attendees enjoyed the silent acution and a variety of kids' activities, including bingo, video games, classic arcade games, ping pong, carnival games, a cake walk, arts and crafts and family photos.
Everyone danced the night away to the sounds of CBO (Casablanca Orchestra). After the balloon drop at midnight, the Hilton kicked off 2010 in style by presenting a check to The Miracles of Mitch Foundation for $78,793.
And for those who took advantage of the special hotel packages the Hilton offered, they awoke to enjoy a fantastic New Year's Day brunch.
