Camp Courage
Maple Lake, Minn.
MiracleKids Kamp offers Minnesota’s cancer and sickle cell disease patients, as well as their siblings, some normalcy during an abnormally difficult time in their lives. The camp, which can accommodate up to 170 campers, offers all the experiences of a typical summer camp, including swimming, canoeing, horseback riding, hiking, crafts, campfires and cookouts as well as special educational sessions for patients and siblings. In addition, the camp offers these kids, all ages 7-17, the opportunity to experience these activities with others who understand what it is like to live with their disease.
This is a medically equipped camp with a full hematology/oncology medical staff from Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota, as well as the seasoned Camp Courage staff. Their participation ensures that all medical needs are met and continually monitored for all campers.
We enjoy providing this benefit to all the kids in the family. Parents get to take the week off too, but they stay home to enjoy their respite time. Words cannot adequately describe the benefits provided to the entire family and child with cancer/sickle cell disease by this camping experience. The smiles on all of their faces tell the story best.

We'd like to thank the Randy Shaver Cancer Research and Community Fund and the St. Cloud/Clearwater RV Park for their generous support in helping us sponsor this year's camp.
